Day 1
Meeting at the Murmansk airport. City sightseeing tour. Trip to Teriberka fishing village at the coast of the Barents Sea. On the way amazing views of the northern nature: boundless tundra, hills and rocks. Stops for photography. Hotel accommodation on the coast.
Day 2
Sightseeing walking along the village. The moorings of abandoned wooden ships of the 20th century, seeing of the “old Teriberka”. A walk along the sandy beach. Hiking across tundra to the camping place in Orlovka Bay. Overnights in tents.
Day 3
Radial hiking to the open ocean across Teriberskiy Cape. You will get acquainted with severe northern nature, admire fantastic landscapes and can pick up some berries. Come back to the camping.
Day 4
Walking along south part of the Teriberskiy Peninsula to the view point to old Teriberka lighthouse. Come back to the camping.
Day 5
Trip by off-road car to the camp west of the Teriberka. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Barents Sea and a magnificent waterfall that flows into the Arctic Ocean! Big and small tundra lakes, beach of giant stones “dragon eggs", the first on the Kola north weather station, founded in 1893, artillery battery of coastal defense of the Second World War. Overnights in tents.
Day 6
Hiking to the Dolgaya Bay. Snack lunch with overlooking the sea and powerful cliffs. Come back to Teriberka. Night in the hotel.
Day 7
Free time at the Arctic Ocean coast. Boat trip in Barents Sea as an option (in case good weather). Transfer to Murmansk. Night train to Kandalaksha. Late arrival and night in a hotel.
Day 8
Travelling along the Tersky Coast gives you a chance to watch the original Kola Pomors’ (Seasiders’) craft-focused way of life. Visiting ancient pomor villages Kuzreka and Olenitsa, Korabl Cape (Ship Cape) in Kashkarantsy Village - a deposit of amethyst and fluorites in the shore of the White Sea. A walk along the coast in the beams of the sunset sun. Accommodation in the guest house in Varzuga
Day 9
Ancient village Varzuga is the first Russian settlement in the Kola land. You may enjoy the modest charm of the historical and orthodox pearl of the Russian North. Kuzomen sands is a unique place as it is a sole desert in the world beyond the Polar Circle. Picnic lunch at the White Sea coast. Night in the guest house in Tonya Tetrina historical complex.
Day 10
Visit to Tonya Tetrina Open Air Museum which is a reconstructed Pomor fishing village. The story of the founder of the museum, Alexander Borisovich, about the Pomors’ way of life, fishing in the White Sea. Pomors’ lunch – ukha (fish soup) made of fresh fish from the White Sea. A good chance to take a bath with salt and seaweed of the White Sea which are extracted at Tonya Tetrina. Night in Tonya Tetrina.
Day 11
Transfer to the Apatity airport. Flight home.
