What's the plan?
Day 1
Meeting at the airport or train station of Petrozavodsk. Transfer to the tourist base to Kudama Village on Lake Syamozero which appeared in the twentieth century at the place of ancient Saami site — first occupants of this area of the 3rd – 1st century BC. Accommodation in the Russian style wooden guest house. Dinner. Karelian dishes with tasting of liqueurs made of northern berries. Optionally (extra pay): tour to Karelian Father Frost residence — Talvi Ukko on the way from airport to Kudama.
Day 2
Today the program includes an eventful travelling on the dog-pulled sleds in the snow-covered taiga (30 km). You will get acquainted with the life of first occupants of this land — Wood Saami, learn about a taiga life and the rules of care of the dog team. Such interesting pastime will not only give you plenty of positive emotions but will allow to switch to the high-grade interesting rest full of events, adventures, new knowledge and impressions. Lunch in national Saami yurta "Wood Saami Village". You will get acquainted with the Wood Saami cuisine which is based on products of local hunting and fishery. Introductory walk around "Wood Saami Village" historical complex. After lunch — free time and relax. Russian sauna (banya).
Day 3
Dog-pulled sleds (45–50 km). During the trip you will be able to take nice photos with winter views of the Karelian nature. Participation in feeding of the dogs of your team.
Day 4
Free time for rest in Russian nature. Options: ski walking in the picturesque neighborhood, ice fishing on the lake (a pike, an eelpout, a perch, a pike perch), Finnish sledge riding, snowmobile tours. National dinner in yaranga round the bonfire. Karelian smoked fish from the lake and national Karelian pies (“kalitka”).
Day 5
We leave the small village Kudama on Lake Syamozero and set off to Kinerma — ancient Karelian village, which is unique place. The only one family lives here. You will immerse into the culture and life of Karelian people which have kept their traditions from the 18–19th centuries. Accommodation in the guest house, built in traditional style with typical Russian old stove.
Day 6
Enjoy silence and harmony around nice Kinerma.
Ski/ snowshoe walks. Karelian cuisine. Banya (Russian old style smoke sauna) in the evening. Night in the cozy guest house in Kinerma.
Day 7
Morning walking in the forest, to the Vedlozero lake. Karelian pies master-class. Transfer to Petrozavodsk in the afternoon. On the way: visit to Pryazha or Vedlozero village. Accommodation in the hotel.
Day 8
Visit to the Museum-Reserve on Kizhi island by hovercraft on the ice of the frozen Lake Onega (one way travelling time —
1 hour 30 minutes). The program includes a sightseeing tour around the island-museum. Return to Petrozavodsk. Walking along the Onego Lake embankment.
Day 9
Transfer to Petrozavodsk railway station or airport.
Departure to St. Petersburg or Moscow.
Note: After this program you can take 2–3 extra days with the excursion program in St. Petersburg or Moscow (an additional fee, upon request).

The program of travelling to Kizhi Island depends on the weather and ice situation on Onega Lake. If the lake will be not frozen enough for travel from Petrozavodsk directly, we replaced the route on longer one through Velikaya Guba village (trip for a full day)
